Chronology
1996
The idea is born to create a fully automated biodiesel production machine that could be operated by someone who is not a chemist. Another goal is to create a flexible machine that can handle many different type of feedstock. David and Gert Frykerås start the company and apply their experience from oil & gas and pulp & paper process automation
1998
First prototype of their biodiesel processor is delivered to a farm outside the Swedish city of Norrköping for the making of biodiesel to power tractors and farm machines from locally grown rapeseed oil.
2004
First commercial delivery of P type processor outside Sweden for fish oil in Norway.
2005
Ageratec unique water-free washing technique is developed and patented. This is followed by the mechanical washing technique further improved by using separator technology developed by Alfa Laval.
2006
Introduction of front end esterification pre-treatment for high FFA oils and fats which ever since is an integral part and included in every Ageratec PE type processor.
2007
Delivery of the 40th commercial processor. This year celebrating the peak in production Ageratec ships a processor every 10 days. Ageratec inaugurates its new 1600 square meter factory building and biodiesel laboratory.
2008
June 13th Alfa Laval buys a minority share in Ageratec AB. On December 29th Alfa Laval becomes a majority stake holder increasing ownership to two thirds of the company.
2009
Ageratec have sold in excess of 70 processors and participated in projects on all major continents including Scandinavia, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, North America, South America, Asia Pacific and Africa.
2010
Ageratec launches the new AGP Advanced Glycerol Pretreatment technique for high fatty acid feedstock in the region of 10-100% FFA to enable biodiesel production from waste fats such as trap- and brown grease as well as vegetable oil byproducts like PFAD palm fatty acid distillate and SOFA soy oil fatty acids.
